Automotive Weatherstrip Seals – Rubber Hood Weatherstrip Seal Manufacturer Supplier Factory from China
Automotive weatherstrip seals, also known as weather seals, weatherstrips, or weatherstripping, keep elements in the environment and those brought by the weather from getting into the interior sections of the vehicle.
The hood seal, hood weatherstrip, or hood weatherstrip seal is located between the engine compartment and the hood lid. Aside from protecting the components in the engine compartment by preventing the entry of water, dirt, mud, and other road debris, it also provides insulation from engine noises and fumes and helps mitigate the vibrations from the engine compartment so it wouldn’t transfer to the windshield. Some are even designed to help manage the flow of air in the engine compartment.
Hood weatherstrips come in different types depending on where they are mounted, such as the hood to cowl weatherstrip, hood to radiator support seal, and the hood to front bumper weatherstrip seal. The hood to cowl seal is located just below the windshield. For the hood to radiator support seal, it is placed either directly on the radiator core support or on the section of the hood that lies above the radiator. Meanwhile, the hood to front bumper weatherstrip seal is positioned on the part where the bumper and the hood lid meet. There are more types of hood weatherstrip seal other than the three mentioned, such as one that lines the underside of the hood close to the edge.
